“We at the Civic League Day Nursery provide a safe, healthy and loving environment where children can learn by discovering life for themselves.  Our children thrive in small groups with well-trained staff to give individual attention in an atmosphere that makes learning enjoyable and satisfying.  The ability to develop trusting relationships with adults, play happily and independently with their peers and take responsibility for themselves is encouraged at Civic League Day Nursery.  Our curriculum provides stimulating experiences and opportunities for individual growth.  Teachers plan weekly activities focusing on a theme and plan for the enrichment of the child’s intellectual, social, emotional and physical development."

Information on our website…

Check out our About CLDN Section and learn about our philosophy, a bit of history of our centers, a word or two from each center’s director, and enjoy a poem which we share with all new staff and parents.  We have qualified and experienced teachers, a wonderful staff to child ratio, a “learning through play” philosophy, and much more.

The section describing each center includes:  contact information, a map, a photograph of the center, hours, tuition rates, financial assistance information, holidays, and a brief message the center’s director.  We encourage you to contact either of our centers and arrange for a visit.

Join our celebration as the Civic League Day Nursery celebrates its 81st Birthday.  To learn more about our rich history in Rochester, we have included a revised 2004 report of the History and Development of Civic League and placed it in our History Section.  This section also includes a Self-Guided Tour of the Historic Balfour House, the location of one of our centers.
